Grades: English Class

The grade breakdown. Some of you emailed me after the final exam to ask what your grades were for each category. Do this before the final exam. I do NOT take the grades home with me after the final exam.

30% Final Exam
15% Mid-term Quiz
25% Homework / Classwork
10% Participation
10% Attendance: come to class
10% Writing

If you come to every class and always do the homework, you can get 25%. Every time we check, I give you 10/10. That is the same for classwork. If you are NOT in class, you get 0/10. If you are in class, you get 10/10.

I will nag you about sleeping.

Right now, everyone gets 10% for attendance. Every hour you do not come to class, you lose 1%. If you miss two hours, I subtract 2%. If you miss 9 hours, you fail this class.

If you come to every class, you should be able to get 35% / 35%.

Writing. This is not my idea. It is the university rule.

Please look at pages Roman numeral 6 (VI) and Roman numeral 7 (VII).

Let us begin with food vocabulary. Let us practice food words.

Rules:

Draw these foods in the kitchen. Do NOT write any words.

Random: not on purpose; there is no reason for it

Hoard (v.): never throw anything away; weird, psychological problem or Hoarding: (v.) or (adj.)

For example,

She has a hoarding personality. There are so many bags and cats in her apartment.

Broccoli: green

Cauliflower: white

One shrimp, Two shrimp, etc.
