The Affirmative

 


We need to practice grammar, like I said. Also, I want to start reviewing vocabulary. 

So, don’t say “Hey, we did this before!”

We are reviewing, so you can remember the words for the final exam. 

1. Some is yes or positive/affirmative. I have it.

2. Any is no or negative. I do NOT have it. 

3. Some/Any are both okay for a question. 

Aisle: s is silent

Conjugate the verb

I do

You do

She/He/It/One does

We do

They do

Once in a while: sometimes

In two weeks, we have the final exam. These words are on that test. Please try to remember. December 27



Recommend: suggest, advise, you should, etc. 

How come? = Why? 

1. Tell your partner to look in the textbook. 

2. Tell your partner the page number.

3. Your partner will look in his/her textbook at the page.

4. Your partner will tell you the answer.

5. You will write down the answer. 

6. You will speak English at all times.

7. Use your imagination. “I don’t know” is unacceptable in a university.

These are homonyms. Same sound or pronunciation, different meaning/spelling.

Recipe is the list to tell you how to cook a dish or food.  

Transparent: like glass; no color; you can look inside

It is the opposite of opaque. 

Today is completely going to be review because we have the final exam in two weeks. I want you to get a good score.
